Speech Language Pathologist
Monica is a bilingual Speech -Language Pathologist , licensed in the State of Florida, originally from Lima-Peru . She relocated to United Sates 23 years ago. Monica holds a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, and Master’s degree in Speech language Pathology and Audiology, from a prestigious private university in Lima-Peru.
She began her career in Early Childhood education as a Preschool assistant Teacher and later as Lead teacher in Voluntary Pre-kindergarten ( VPK) , and Kindergarten programs, then she transitioned into the field of speech language pathology starting as speech therapy assistant in pediatric clinics in West Palm Beach, Florida. In addition , she worked as an Early Reading Coach , supporting a predominantly Hispanic population by training teachers to promote early literacy and foundational reading skills. Monica continued her professional training and completed her Clinical Fellowship Year ( CFY) at a pediatric therapy clinic in Clermont, Florida. She also holds certification as Early Intervention Specialist though Early Steps program, where she served the Central Florida community for seven years providing early intervention services at homes, schools and natural environment settings. Monica is passionate about her profession; she has experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services. Her areas of expertise including working with children with a wide range of needs and diagnoses including Autism, developmental delay, language delay and disorders, speech and articulation disorders, fluency disorders , and children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems.
