Kathy Urdaz

Occupational Therapist

Kathy is a bilingual pediatric occupational therapist with more than a decade of experience serving children and families. She began her occupational therapy journey as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, graduating with her Associate of Science degree from Daytona State College’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program in 2015. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Florida and earned her Master of Occupational Therapy from AdventHealth University in 2022.

Throughout her career, Kathy has developed extensive experience working with children across a variety of settings, with specialized training and expertise in supporting medically complex cases and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is passionate about providing family-centered care and believes that meaningful progress happens when therapy is integrated into a child’s everyday routines and natural environments.

Beyond direct patient care, Kathy is dedicated to advancing the occupational therapy profession. She volunteers with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and was selected to participate in AOTA’s inaugural Diverse Leaders Program in 2022, where she further developed her leadership and advocacy skills. She is also passionate about mentoring occupational therapy students and fellow therapists, helping to foster growth, confidence, and excellence within the profession.

When working with children and families, Kathy strives to create engaging, culturally-sensitive, and individualized interventions that empower children to achieve their fullest potential while building confidence, independence, and participation in daily life.

When not working, Kathy loves to spend her free time reading, trying new restaurants, visiting local theme parks, and traveling with her family.
